TRUTOOL

Privacy policy

How TruTool handles information while you browse the directory or contact its publisher.

Your contact point

TruTool’s editorial team handles questions about information you share through this website. Use our contact form and choose “Privacy question” for a data enquiry.

Browsing and search

The directory does not include a product account or checkout. Newsletter subscriptions are optional. Search text entered in the homepage is passed in the search page URL. Directory filtering, sorting, and comparison selection run in your browser; this version does not save those selections to a TruTool database.

Search URLs can appear in browser history and hosting request logs. Avoid entering personal or confidential information in directory search.

Hosting and access

Our hosting and access providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser details, request URLs, timestamps, and access-session information to deliver and secure the website. Provider-controlled access and retention follow the relevant provider policies. Preview versions may require authentication through the hosting provider.

Contact-form enquiries

When you start a conversation, we save your name, email address, topic, message, and submission time in a private website inbox. We use this information to handle the enquiry, review a product suggestion, or investigate a correction. Messages are available to the website owner and authorized team members; they are not published on the directory.

Our hosting and database providers process submissions to operate the inbox. We retain messages as needed for the enquiry and related business records. We do not automatically subscribe you to marketing or send form details to listed vendors.

Newsletter subscriptions

When you subscribe, we save your email address, selected topics, subscription source, consent version, and submission time in private storage. We use these details to send the TruTool newsletter and manage your preferences. We do not publish your email or share the subscriber list with listed tool vendors.

The confirmation screen includes an unsubscribe link. You can also use our contact form and choose “Privacy question” to request removal. Unsubscribing stops future newsletter editions; we retain a minimal subscription record to respect that choice. We use a hashed submission identifier to limit spam without storing your IP address in the subscriber record.

Diagnostic answers

The visibility diagnostic uses preset rules to recommend next steps. Answers are held in the current page’s memory and are not saved to the inbox or sent to a third-party AI service. They reset when you leave or reload.

Analytics and advertising

This version has no TruTool-installed advertising pixels or audience analytics scripts. The directory does not sell information submitted through its interface. Hosting-provider operations and vendor websites are separate from TruTool’s application.

External websites and brand images

Vendor links open external websites with their own privacy policies. Brand marks and article covers are served from this website, without requiring your browser to retrieve logos from the vendors.

Requests and changes

Use our contact form to ask about information held in our inbox or request a correction or deletion. We may need to verify your request. Any rights and retention obligations depend on applicable law. Questions about hosting-provider account information should also be directed to that provider.

We will update this notice when the directory’s data practices change. Read our cookie policy for browser-storage details.

Product reviews

Review submissions store your name, email, rating, review text, product, and submission time in our private inbox. Reviews are held for moderation. Your email is not displayed publicly. Your name, rating, and review may be published after moderation when you consent through the review form.

Brand images

Some brand images are retrieved by our server from vendor websites or Google’s favicon service. Your browser requests these images from TruTool.

Helpful feedback

When you mark a community answer as helpful, we store an anonymous record for that answer and use an essential browser cookie to avoid counting the same browser twice. The feedback does not ask for your name or email. Clearing the cookie removes the browser’s remembered vote state.

Community questions and experiences

We store your display name, topic, question or experience, submission time, and publication consent in a private review inbox. Email is optional and stays private. With your consent, approved submissions may be published under your display name. We use a hashed submission identifier to limit spam; the community submission record does not store your IP address.
