What this directory stores
The current TruTool application does not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or persistent cookies for directory filters. Search filters and selected comparisons are held in the current page’s memory and may reset when you reload or leave the page.
Helpful-answer feedback
If you mark an answer as helpful, TruTool sets an essential first-party cookie named trutool_helpful for up to one year. It remembers an anonymous browser identity so the same answer is counted once for that browser. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Hosting and sign-in sessions
The hosting platform may use essential cookies or similar storage to authenticate access, protect requests, and deliver the website. Those sessions are managed by the provider. Restricting essential cookies may prevent access to the private review version.
Third-party links
Following a vendor link takes you to a separate website, whose cookies and storage are governed by its own policy. TruTool’s locally hosted brand marks and guide covers do not embed vendor tracking scripts.
Your controls
You can inspect, remove, or restrict stored website data in your browser settings. Removing access-session data may sign you out. We will update this policy before adding TruTool-controlled nonessential tracking.
